Investigation reveals Masonicare fined by Department of Public Health for lapses in care.

Newtown Care Home Fined for Failing to Prevent Sexual Abuse

Masonicare, a care home for the elderly on Toddy Hill Road, was fined $1,590 for at least nine incidents of sexual molestation by a resident, The Hartford Courant and Connecticut Health I-Team have revealed.

Between August and November of 2013 the resident made sexual comments toward or touched at least seven female staff members, visitors and residents.

Masonicare was one of several nursing homes to be fined by the DPH.
