Officer Mauro Piroli and his K-9 partner Chase assisted in arrests this week in North Branford and East Haven.

North Branford K-9 Team Tracks Down Two Suspects

The newly reactivated K-9 Unit is credited with tracking down arrest suspects in North Branford and East Haven this week.

The K-9 team, , were called to a home on Wilford Road on Friday, April 6, where a resident had allegedly threatened family members with a hammer before running off into some nearby woods.

Chase tracked the suspects scent to his hiding place where officers took him into custody.

Joseph Dynderski, 32, was charged with disorderly conduct and interfering with a police officer. He is scheduled to appear in court on April 9.

The North Branford K-9 team also assisted East Haven police on April 4 with the arrest of a motor vehicle operator suspected of crashing his vehicle and leaving it abandoned on Main Street. East Haven officers found a heavily damaged vehicle with no one arround.

Piroli and Chase tracked the suspect from the vehicle past several commercial establishments until the trail ended at the door of a residence, where police apprehended the suspect.

Additional information about the suspect in East Haven was not available.
