Nursery on Notch Hill Readies for Another School Year
The North Branford preschool made a few changes.
Generations of families have been attending the Nursery on Notch Hill since 1971. While many favorite traditions have remained in place, some changes have been made to make things easier for families.
The school used to be a co-op, meaning that parents were required to spend some time in the classroom.
"It's not mandatory that parents volunteer their time," said Donna Hart, the school's new director. "Parents are always welcomed in the classroom but this is no longer required."
Hart said that many of the students' favorite activities and traditions are still in place, though, including the traditional Thanksgiving Feast, Mother’s Day Brunch and the four-year-old graduation.
Nursery on Notch Hill is a non-profit school with a 6:1 student-teacher ratio that is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Before and after-care are available from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
"Our staff consists of friendly educated teachers, all of whom had their children attend NONH," said Hart.
