A red flag warning will be in effect today in East Haven, as well as much of the rest of the state, from noon to 8 p.m.

The National Weather Service reports that dry weather and gusty winds — 10 to 15 miles per hour, with gusts up to 20 miles per hours — will result in critical fire weather conditions.

"A mild and generally dry air mass continues to promote favorable conditions for fire spread," the meterologists report.

Brush Fire Danger

This early spring's dry conditions has led to fire warnings off and on throughout much of this month, with weather officials concerned about the possible spread of wild fires.

In addition, earlier this month area fire departments battled a in North Haven, near the Northford border.
