Man Dies In West Rocks Road Fire In Norwalk: Update

NORWALK, CT — A man was killed Saturday afternoon in a fire at a West Rocks Road home in Norwalk, reports The Hour.

The victim's identity has not been released, but a neighbor identified the home's resident as Frederick Bassler.

The fire was reported at about 1:15 p.m. and shut down the road for a couple of hours while emergency crews battled the blaze.

Fire officials told The Hour that a hoarding situation in the home made it difficult to fight the fire.
