Lilly the Min Pin is also available through Cat Assistance out of Ardsley, NY Here is her story: Lilly is a two year old Min-Pin with papers. She is wee-wee pad and crate trained and is good with older kids -- she is a high-energy fun-lovin gal who might be too much for really young kids. She is smart and will show you her tricks, but only if you've got a good treat to offer her ;) She has not been exposed to other dogs, and will be best as an only pet. Although she is small, the perfect home will include a fenced yard where she can burn off some of her puppy-ish energy. She is used to being home alone for part of the day. If you are interested in Lily, email: Kerri Ann at firstname.lastname@example.org
Murphy is from PAWS in Norwalk. I met Murphy on Friday and it was so hard to walk out the door afterward. This 7-year-old mix (Shepherd? Labrador?) is the perfect pet. His previous owners had to part with him regrettably.
Murphy and I hung out for a half-hour or so, and I can report that he doesn't come on too strong. He was friendly and after ten or fifteen minutes he sat down next to me, put his paw across my arm and kissed my hand. What a prince! Before I left he literally painted my face with kisses. He has always had a family and is not doing well in the shelter because he misses them. Let's get Murphy out of PAWS, please!
Shadow - Basset Hound, Border Collie mix - from OPIN in Stamford.
Also this week we feature Shadow, an adult 35lb dog who lost his home to a flooding disaster. When there was no room for him at the shelter, he was welcomed into one of OPIN’s foster homes. OPIN's vet has guessed that Shadow is a basset/border collie mix, but frankly, that is just a guess. What they do know about Shadow is that he greets people with a smile. He is house trained, neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped and loves the company of children.
OPIN reports that Shadow bonds easily with people and prefers small dogs over larger ones. Previously, he lived with a small dog and a cat, but, his perfect home would be one where he can have all the attention. He loves car rides and has short spotted legs, just a wonderful family dog.
To meet Shadow, contact OPIN, the nonprofit that supports the Stamford Animal Shelter, at (203) 348-4397, email:email@example.com or fill out an application online. To see all the pets available for adoption go to the OPIN website.
