Norwalk Police to Buy Back Firearms

Norwalk Police will hold a gun buy-back program on Saturday, February 2.

The department will pay $50 for a rifle or shotgun, $75 for a handgun, and $100 for assault weapons capable of being set to fire fully-automatic, burst or semi-automatic, or any weapon meeting the definition of a machine gun in Connecticut General Statute §53-202a.

The program will be held at Police Headquarters, 1 Monroe Street in South Norwalk, and will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Entry to the building will be through the Community Room entrance on South Main St. The building’s parking lot is off of South Main Street.

The following rules will apply:

  • Ammunition should be kept separate from a gun
  • Non-residents may participate, but not businesses
