Fire Destroys House In Oxford

OXFORD, CT — A fire caused extensive damage to a house on Churchview Road, according to the Oxford Fire Department. Early Saturday, the Oxford Fire Department was operating at a scene of a structure fire in Churchview Road.

Firefighters said heavy fire could be seen throughout the structure and mutual aid was requested from the Seymour Fire Department.

"Operations reporting they have 2 collapses, one was the roof and rear roof as well. The fire is contained and overall operations are being set up. Great Job by ALL!!! Thank you to our mutual aid (departments)," Oxford Fire-Rescue said on Facebook.
