Oxford Fire & Ambulance Raises $19K for Newtown Support

They stood outside for just five hours Saturday to collect donations that will go toward the families of Newtown shooting victims. And the three Oxford fire companies and the Oxford Ambulance Association collected an impressive $19,000.

The emergency services personnel held fill-the-boot drives near the Center, Quaker Farms and Riverside fire companies between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. Donors came out in droves to help.

All of the money raised will be given directly to the families, Fire Chief Scott Pelletier said.
