Vehicle Breakdowns Slow Plow Progress

Oxford first selectman George Temple asks people to stay off roads on Sunday night.

Vehicle Breakdowns Slow Plow Progress

The following CodeRed Emergency Notification was sent out by Oxford Sunday:

This is Oxford First Selectman George Temple with an update on Storm Nemo. I know that I was a little optimistic about our roads being open at midnight last night. Unfortunately, we experienced equipment breakdowns which have slowed our progress. As of now, most of our roads are open but we ask that you not travel this evening which will assist our snow removal.

Please insure that your gas vents are free of snow. If you are shoveling or removing snow, stay hydrated and take frequent breaks. Please don’t push snow on town roads or other people driveway.

Good news for Oxford parents: no school tomorrow. Oxford Town Hall and the Senior Center will be closed tomorrow.

If your street hasn’t been plowed yet, call me at 203 906 0348 and I will contact Public Works. I thank everyone for your patience and cooperation. A special thanks to Oxford Public Works.

Don’t miss updates from Patch!
