Fuel Report: Lowest Gas Price Around $3.83

Let's help each other find the least expensive stations around.

Fuel Report: Lowest Gas Price Around $3.83

— despite some advice from Ridgefield Patch readers to seek affordable gasoline outside of town — one reader told us she paid $3.75 over the weekend at the Limestone Service Station in Ridgefield, and that a station near the corner of Routes 35 and 7 also was charging $3.75.

Those prices certainly would be cheaper than what we found — a 2 cents per gallon rise in the cheapest price of gas from just one week ago, to $3.83 per gallon.

In Connecticut, the average gallon of regular gasoline costs $3.74, according to AAA's " Fuel Gauge Report," with mid-grade at $3.87, premium at $3.98 and diesel at $4.13.

Those figures mark about a penny rise over last week and steep rise over last month, with the week-ago prices for the same fuel at $3.74, $3.85, $3.96 and $4.11 — and the month-ago prices at $3.35, $3.47, $3.59 and $3.73.

Just one year ago, a gallon of gas in Connecticut would cost, on average, $2.92, with mid-grade at $3.17, premium at $3.25 and diesel at $3.17.
