Ridgefield Needs Volunteers to Serve on Conservation, Other Boards
The town of Ridgefield is looking to fill an opening on the Conservation Commission, as well as vacation seats on a handful of other councils and committees.

Applicants for the Conservation Commission position must be willing and able to attend biweekly meetings (every other Monday night at 7:30 p.m.), as well as occasion site walks (usually Friday mornings) and Tuesday night Planning and Zoning Commission meetings on a rotating basis.

Time and willingness to help with trail maintenance, land use expertise, knowledge of natural resources and an interest in promoting the Commission’s work through education and outreach will also be taken into consideration.

Interested residents should contact the Commission at 203-431-2713 or conservation@ridgefieldct.org.

The town is also looking to fill vacancies on eight other committees, listed below. Anyone interested in a seat on one of those boards should reach out to the First Selectman’s Office at 203-431-2774 or selectman@ridgefieldct.org.

Other Vacancies:
  • Affordable Housing Committee
  • Architectural Advisory Committee
  • Cable TV Advisory Council
  • Commission on the Disabled
  • Pension Commission
  • Ridgefield Arts Council
  • Tree Committee
  • Youth Commission (seeking adult member)
