Obituary: Helen B. Nagy, Lifelong Valley Resident

Helen B. Nagy, age 92, of Shelton, entered into rest on Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2013 at St. Vincent Medical Center.

She was the beloved wife of the late Walter W. Kohanski and the late Stephen Nagy. Mrs. Nagy was born in Ansonia, on March 27, 1920 daughter of the late Joseph and Amelia Kashuba Popowski and was a valley resident for most of her life.

She was an employee at Casco Products until her retirement. Mrs. Nagy was an active member of the Shelton Senior Center and was a member of their Chorale Group. She enjoyed working outside in her garden. She and her late husband loved to travel and dance.

Mrs. Nagy is the loving mother of Judith Bernasconi and her husband Louis. She is also survived by her loving granddaughter Stacey Bernasconi and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Nagy is predeceased by four brothers, Walter, Joseph, Henry and Charles Popowski and two sisters, Estelle Konner and Eleanor “Louise” Drozdowski.

Friends may call on Monday from 8- 9:15 a.m. at the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Rd., Shelton. On Monday, her funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at St. Lawrence Church. H er burial will follow at St. Michael Cemetery, Derby. The family requests that memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
