On Feb. 5, Shelton Police served an arrest warrant on 44-year-old Anthony Simons of West Haven at Derby Superior Court. Simons was charged with:

  • Robbery 1st degree and
  • Larceny 6th degree

Simons was being held on a $100,000 bond for this incident and will be arraigned today at Derby Court.

The incident occurred on Nov. 30, 2012 at the Citgo Gas Station, located at 442 River Rd. That evening at approximately 9:30 p.m., a white male entered the store and made a purchase. The male leaned over the counter and displayed a knife and demanded money. The male then left the store. Nobody was injured during the incident and no other customers were inside the store when the incident occurred.

The arrest stems from an investigation by the detective bureau working in conjunction with other area detectives.
