Susan Tedeschi of Tedeschi Trucks Band to Speak on Upcoming Simsbury Meadows Concert

Chris Cowles of Greasy Tracks blues radio show will interview Susan Tedeschi of Tedeschi Trucks Band on upcoming Simsbury Meadows concert.

Music lovers take note! Set your rock clocks for Saturday Aug. 9 at 4:30 p.m. when Chris Cowles of the “Greasy Tracks” radio show will be airing a radio interview with Susan Tedeschi on WRTC-FM, 89.3 FM, Hartford.

Tedeschi, lead singer and guitarist of Tedeschi Trucks Band, is playing at the Performing Arts Center at Simsbury Meadows on Thursday, Aug. 14. Music lovers will know that her husband and lead guitarist Derek Trucks has been a member of the Allman Brothers Band for 15 years and toured with Eric Clapton, among others. Local music lovers can see them up close and personal at the Simsbury Meadows concert next week.

The Tedeschi Trucks Band has been touring extensively this year, including playing in Europe, and at the famed Montreux Jazz Festival. They have also toured Japan, the Middle East and some of the largest festivals in the U.S. Tedeschi spoke in the interview about their upcoming show, as well as the influence of Trucks as a bandleader, his exit from the Allman Brothers Band and future plans for their band. This will be the Tedeschi Trucks Band’s first appearance in Connecticut since they played the 2013 Gathering of the Vibes in Bridgeport.

Their 2011 album Revelator, won both a Best Blues Album Grammy and a Blues Music Award for Album of the Year. Their latest release is Made Up Mind, Sony Masterworks, August 20, 2013.
