Bristol Man Killed In Southington Crash (Updated)

The accident sent two others to the hospital, police said.

SOUTHINGTON, CT - A Bristol Man was killed in a head-on crash on West Center Street early Saturday morning, Southington police said.

At 12:19 a.m., Brandon Caron 30, of 45 Willis St., Bristol, was heading eastbound in a 2009 Kia Spectra near the Summit Street intersection when his vehicle collided with a 2014 Jeep Compass driven by Krista Pikora, 26, of 207 Pleasant St., Southington, police said.

The vehicles collided head-on, police said.

Caron was taken to Waterbury Hospital and later died from his injuries, police said.

Pikora was taken to St. Mary's hospital with serious injuries, police said.

A passenger in Caron's vehicle, 26-year-old Kelly Brennan of Southington, was transported to St. Mary's Hospital with minor injuries, police said.

The Southington Police Accident Investigation Team is investigating the crash. Anyone who may have witnessed it can call 860-621-0101, police said.

Relatives of Caron have set up a Gofund me account in an effort to offset the costs of his funeral expenses. According to a summary listed on the account, he worked as an independent landscaper and wanted to open his own company one day.

He had no health insurance, according to the Gofundme account.

"As his family, we are looking for any help anyone can provide to ease the burden of his medical and burial costs.
All donations are greatly appreciated. We are trying to make this hard time easier on the family and we want to give Brandon the burial he deserves. To us, Brandon was our son, our brother, our friend, and our life," the posting says.
