I-691 Closed in Southington For Vehicle Fire

SOUTHINGTON — Traffic on Interstate 691 in Southington is snarled following a motor vehicle crash this afternoon that has closed the road.

According to the state Department of Transportation's Twitter feed, the crash happened about a tenth of a mile before Exit 4 on the eastbround side of the highway. That exit is the interstate's intersection with Route 322.

The DOT is reporting the incident to be a vehicle fire.

It is not known when the road will reopen, according to the DOT.
