Ahmed attempted to readjust his truck into the parking space when the driver from the truck that was struck, emerged from the cab to assess the damage, police said. As the driver stepped onto the foot step, Ahmed’s trailer struck the door and pinned the driver’s leg in the partially closed door, police said.
After the impact, Ahmed allegedly knew he struck the driver, but fled the truck stop and left the
area, police said.
At approx. 2:47 am, Ahmed called the SPD and reported he was now in Berlin and that he wanted to report the accident, police said. Ahmed claimed that he fled the Truck Stop because he felt threatened
by other drivers at the scene, police said.
Ahmed claimed that he knew he struck the trailer, however he did not know he struck the other driver, police said. The driver who was struck was transported to a local hospital via ambulance for a possible broken
leg, police said.
