Shoplifting Suspect Stole $1,600 Worth of Items: South Windsor Police

Police charged a man with stealing baby monitors, fragrances, headphones and watches.

South Windsor Police have charged a Hartford man with allegedly stealing $1,600 worth of items from a Buckland Road retail store on two separate occasions.

Police arrested Daryl Beaufort, 46, of 15 Goodrich St., Wednesday at Manchester Superior Court on an arrest warrant. He was charged with fourth-degree larceny and fifth-degree larceny.

Police said Beaufort’s charges stem from a May 2015 complaint by store staff.

The staff noticed a large number of fragrances missing and a review of surveillance video found the suspect, later identified as Beaufort, removing items from the store on two occasions.

Police said Beaufort is accused of taking three baby monitors valued at $850 total and $750 worth of fragrances along with headphones and watches.

Beaufort was held at court and was arraigned later on Wednesday morning.
