31-Year-Old Killed In Crash: Stamford Police

A 24-year-old was also injured in the Sunday crash.

STAMFORD, CT — A 31-year-old Stamford resident was killed after a car ended up striking a tree just after 6 a.m. Sunday, police said.

The accident occurred on Greenwich Avenue. A 24-year-old was also injured. The identity of the deceased has not yet been released.

Police said they responded to the accident at 6:09 a.m. Sunday. The collision occurred in the area of 171 Greenwich Ave., police said.

A 2019 Honda, which was being driven by a 31-year-old Stamford resident, was traveling southbound on Greenwich Avenue, police said. The vehicle crossed over to the northbound side of the road, mounted the sidewalk and struck a tree head-on, police said.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger in the vehicle, a 24-year-old Stamford resident was transported to Stamford Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries, police said. No other vehicles were involved in this crash.
