James J. Deenihan, 76; U.S. Army Veteran, Former Stamford Bank Employee

James J. Deenihan, 76, died peacefully on December 22, 2014 surrounded by his loving family.

A longtime Stamford resident, he most recently resided at the St. Camillus Health Care Center in Stamford.

James was born on April 22, 1938 in Stamford to the late George and Marie Gallagher Deenihan. James was a loving father and family man.

James was a graduate of St. Basil’s College Preparatory School in Stamford and Norwalk Community College. He served in the US Army and worked at the Fairfield County Trust Bank in Stamford. He was also employed at Clairol in Stamford for 18 years.

James is survived by his two sons and their wives, Michael and Rachel Deenihan of Stamford, Greg and Danielle Deenihan of Stamford, and four grandchildren, Mason and Harper Deenihan, Kaylee and Matilda Deenihan. He is also survived by a sister, Maureen D. Bova of Stamford, a brother, Richard M. Deenihan of West Suffield CT, his former wife Claudia K. Deenihan of Stamford, and many loving nieces and nephews. James was predeceased by a brother, George Deenihan Jr., and a sister, Kathleen D. Ross.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, December 29, 2014 at 10:00 at St. Leo Catholic Church 24 Roxbury Road Stamford CT.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday December 28 from 2:00 pm-6:00 pm at Shippan’s Thomas M. Gallagher Funeral Home (next to Knights of Columbus) 453 Shippan Ave. Stamford.
