James P. Ienner, 95; Lifelong Stamford Resident Who Worked for the City; World War II Army Veteran

James P. Ienner, 95, a lifelong resident of Stamford passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, April 9, 2015.
He was born on September 11, 1919 to the late Edward and Maria (Romaniello) Ienner.

James was a founding member of the Stamford Pigeon Club and served in the U.S. Army, WWII, in the Signal Corps Pigeon Service. He worked for the City of Stamford as a machine operator for many years. He was a true family man and loved by all.
He is predeceased by his loving wife, Yolanda, of 65 years and brothers Dominick, Ralph, Canio, Frank, William, Salvatore, Joseph and Daniel Ienner.

James is survived by his three daughters Christine Smith and husband James, Susan Valenzano and husband Frank, Debbie Bell and husband Tom, grandchildren Kelly (Jake), Kristin, Lauren (Tim), Lisa, Jimmy (Melissa), Tommy, Courtney and great-grandchildren Caroline, Isabelle, Julia, Tyler, and Zach.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, April 13, 2015 at 11:00 AM at St. Clement’s Church, 535 Fairfield Avenue, Stamford. Interment will follow at St. John’s Cemetery, Darien, CT. Relatives and friends may call at the Lacerenza Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 8 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford on Sunday, April 12 from 3:00 - 6:00 PM.
