NJ Gov. Christie Coming to Stamford to Stump for Foley
Greenwich Republican Tom Foley will get a second burst of Christie support next week; Lt. Gov. candidate Somers to visit Greenwich Thursday.

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie plans to make good on his promise to return to Connecticut to stump for Republican gubernatorial candidate Tom Foley who’s facing a rematch for the state’s top office held by Democrat Dannel Malloy.
Christie is scheduled to appear at an event at local baseball legend Bobby Valentine’s sports pub Bobby V’s in Stamford on Tuesday, Sept. 23, according to the Foley campaign. The event, which will include an appearance by Foley, who lives in Greenwich and lost the 2010 election to Malloy by 6,400 votes, is set to begin at 6 p.m.
The event is the second in two months for Christie, who’s chairman of the Republican Governors Association (RGA). When he appeared at three events in Greenwich on July 21, Christie said the RGA would “commit the resources necessary to get Tom’s race over the line. … This is not going to be my last time (in Connecticut) for Tom. The RGA is committee to get Tom Foley over the finish line.”
