Stamford Man Charged with Hate Stabbing

The man stabbed a victim while yelling homosexual slurs, according to police.

STAMFORD, CT- Another person has been arrested for an alleged hate crime stabbing that occurred on Thursday.

Evander Cruz, 18, turned himself in to police and was charged with first-degree assault, conspiracy and intimidation by bigotry, according to the Stamford Advocate. A 17-year-old was picked up by police hours after the stabbing.

The victim was stabbed on Lockwood Avenue by the two alleged assailants. Cruz allegedly yelled homosexual slurs at the victim.

The victim sustained injuries to a kidney and lung and had severe internal bleeding.
