Stamford police are searching for two suspects who allegedly dropped an automatic handgun loaded with illegal ammo Saturday morning, authorities said Monday.

According to police, two officers on patrol just after midnight Friday spotted what police called "two suspicious males" hanging out on the 200 block of Greenwich Ave.

Police said when they exited the vehicle to speak with the males, both of the suspects took off running. Police said they recovered at the scene an automatic pistol loaded with hollow-point ammunition, which is illegal to own for everyone except law enforcement.

Descriptions of the suspects were unavailable.


Stamford Arrests

Juan Jose Avila, 34, of Cantwell Ave., charged Sunday morning with third-degree criminal mischief, third-degree assault, disorderly conduct and three counts risk of injury to a child.

Justin Nicholas Brunco, 33, of Pacific St., charged Sunday morning with sixth-degree larceny.

Steven Patrick Cesare, 56, of Bridge St., charged Sunday night with third-degree assault and second-degree threatening.

Rosa Albania Delos-Angeles, 36, of Lockwood Ave., charged Sunday night with disorderly conduct and refusing fingerprinting.

Marvin Martinez-Guitierez, 31, of Chestnut St., charged early Sunday with second-degree breach of peace and interfering with an officer/resisting.

Jorge Luis Murillo, 31, of Bridgeport Correctional Facility in Bridgeport, charged failure to pay or plead to an infraction.

Keith Allen Norberg, 30, of Proctor Rd. in Biddeford, ME, charged Sunday evening with second-degree larceny.

Jerlin Palma-Cato, 27, of Seaside Ave., charged Sunday morning with disorderly conduct.

Janusz Ratynski, 50, of Hope St., charged Monday morning with illegal operation of a motor vehicle while under suspension and traffic control signals.
