Stamford Unitarian Universalist Congregation to Hold Blessing of Animals

A special animal blessing and celebration will be held at its weekly service on Sunday, Oct. 5.

The Unitarian Universalist Congregation in downtown Stamford is hosting an animal blessing and celebration on Sunday, Oct. 5, during its weekly worship service at 10 a.m. This service is open to the community of human and animal companions from all faiths.

The worship service includes an animal blessing and celebration begins at 10 a.m. This service is done to honor the Unitarian Universalist principle of human interdependence with all creatures in the web of life. Participants ought to have animal companions secure, healthy and able to be in the presence of other beings. The service will include a remembrance for pets that have died or are lost. Free will donations, in the form of an offering, will benefit Friends of Felines.

Following the service, at 11 a.m., a blessing will be held on the Congregation’s steps. Pictures of pets during the Animal Blessing are welcomed and encouraged.
