Two Teachers Attacked at Stamford's Westhill High

The teachers were attacked in separate incidents this week, one on Wednesday and one Friday morning.

Two Teachers Attacked at Stamford's Westhill High

A teacher was attacked Friday morning at Westhill High School, the second such attack this week, according to Stamford Police Lt. Diedrich Hohn.

Hohn said during Friday morning's incident, a teacher confronted a 16-year-old student in the hallway and asked her what she was doing. The girl then attacked the teacher, grabbing her by the neck and throwing her to the ground, according to Hohn.

A security guard who got involved to try to break up the attack was kicked in the stomach, Hohn said.

That student was charged with two counts of third-degree assault.

According to Hohn, the first incident occurred on Wednesday, when a 16-year-old junior grabbed a bottle of cleaning solution off for use on the white board, and sprayed it in the face and eyes of a substitute teacher in that classroom.

The teacher had to be transported to Stamford Hospital, where she received treatment. Hohn said the teen stated he just trying to be the class clown.

That teen was charged with third-degree assault.

The two attacks in the past week make what Hohn called "three major attacks" in recent memory, including an incident where a girl had bleach thrown in her face by another student.
