Looking For Love? Adopt a Shelter Pet this Weekend

Everyone loves chocolate - Labrador Retrievers, that is!

Labs, spaniels, terriers, poodles, mixes and purebreds, puppies and adults, will be available for adoption this weekend in Clinton.

If you are looking for a constant companion who asks only for love, food and water, and a warm bed in return, come to the Dog Days adoption event this Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 1 and 2, from 11am to 4pm at the Clinton PETCO.

There will be 80 dogs available for adoption.

This event, and other similar events in the past, is organized by Dog Days, an all-volunteer, 501(c)3 organization. Their role is to plan community-sponsored adoption events by providing an opportunity for local shelters, pounds and rescues to bring their dogs for the community to see and adopt.

Last year, 80 dogs were available for adoption to loving, new families at the Killingworth event held the day before Hurricane Irene at Parmelee Farm. Despite the pending storm, all of the dogs were adopted.

The event in Clinton is made possible by Dog Days, the PETCO Foundation, and the ASPCA and Subaru "Share the Love" campaign.

For more information, go to the Dog Days website where you can view many of the puppies and dogs that will be at the Clinton event, sign up to volunteer at an upcoming event, or donate materials, supplies or funds for the adoptions.
