TOLLAND, CT — A car fire broke out in Tolland early Tuesday evening.
Tolland Fire Department officials reported the incident at about 7:15 p.m.
The compact car caught on fire on the westbound side of Interstate 84 near the Mountain Spring overpass. It was extinguished without incident, fire officials said.
No injuries were reported but traffic was backed up almost to the Exit 68 on-ramp for close to 390 minutes. Traffic was also backed up on Route 30 from the Reservoir Road intersection in Vernon to the Old Post Road intersection in Tolland for about a half-hour.
