Town Hall Departments to be Relocated During Construction

Local government departments will be shuffled around Hicks Memorial as the geothermal project is completed.

Town Hall Departments to be Relocated During Construction

From the Town of Tolland:

Due to the (Hicks Memorial Municipal Center) , many of the Town departments will have to be temporarily relocated. Construction work will be concentrated on levels five and six of the building and those floors will be blocked from public access.

As of Friday, July 20th entry into the front door will not be allowed.  The departments on the 5th floor will now be relocated on a temporary basis (anticipated to be six-seven weeks) to the following floors:

Town Manager’s Office - 4th floor (Human Services Dept.)
Finance - 3rd floor (old Development Office)
Tax - 3rd floor (old Development Office)
Assessor - 3rd floor (old Development Office)
Town Clerk - 2nd floor (old Registrar of Voters Office)

The Planning, Building and Health functions will remain in the Community Room across from the Gymnasium.

On the 6th floor, the Council Chambers, small conference room and kitchen area will not be usable.

There will be signage all around the Town Hall inside and out directing the public to the different departments and floor locations.

We would encourage the public to do business by mail, phone or email.  Also, when possible, please call ahead for copies of Town documents.  Attorneys doing title searches should anticipate time delays and make contact with the Town Clerk’s Office in advance.

Please be patient with us during this construction time.  We thank you for your cooperation during this time as we move forward with this much needed renovation of Town Hall.
