Tractor-Trailer Slams Into Highway Overpass In Tolland

TOLLAND, CT — A tractor-trailer slammed into an overpass on Interstate 84 in Tolland Monday, authorities said.

The crash took place at about noon on the westbound side of the highway at the Old Cathole Road overpass.

The crash caused heavy backups in the area well into the afternoon.

At 3 p.m., the eastbound lanes were open., but the westbound high-speed lane was still closed while cleanup was being finished, fire officials said.

Tolland fire crews, state police and the state Department of transportation responded to the scene.

There were no reported injuries.
