Bark at the Park

Dog Park reopens after brief hiatus

Bark at the Park Bark at the Park

After closing to cope with canine influenza and kennel cough epidemics, the Trumbull  Dog Park reopened today. Recently renovated, the park is welcoming back those local residents and their four-legged friends who have taken some time to get well before they get together again.

T-Dog, the volunteer group behind the dog park, hopes all Trumbull residents will come out to support the park and their animals this weekend.

On Saturday, June 4, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., volunteers from T-Dog, along with their canine companions, will be in front of Stop and Shop collecting donations for the maintenance of, and improvements to the park.

Volunteers from T-Dog will also be at the Town of Trumbull’s annual
Rabies/Licensing clinic at the highway department garage on Church Hill Road from 10 a.m. to noon. June is "License Your Dog" month at the Town Clerk’s office, so this clinic is an excellent time to get your dog licensed.

Plaques honoring or memorializing your furry friends are also still available.  For $75, you can purchase an 8-inch by 12-inch plaque and for $55, you can purchase an 8-inch by 12-inch plaque with your personal sentiment to your dog. The plaques will be installed on the fence surrounding the Trumbull Dog Park at Indian Ledge Park. Aspen Engraving will create your personal plaque, which will become a permanent part of the park.

T-Dog is grateful for any support Trumbull residents can give. If you have a dog and have visited our dog park, you know it’s one of the nicest in Fairfield County.  So come to or the Rabies clinic this Saturday and support your dog park!
