Car Fire Causes Traffic Mayhem in Vernon

VERNON, CT — A car fire on Interstate-84 caused havoc with lunchtime traffic not only on the highway from Vernon to Manchesdter, but along Route 30 in Vernon.

Tolland County 911 said the fire broke out at about 10:45 a.m.

Cars were backed up from an area just past Exit 66 Eastbound into Manchester.

Vehicles were streaming off the exit ramp and clogging up traffic on Route 30, particularly in Vernon Center.
