Vehicle Catches Fire at Busy Vernon Shopping Plaza
Several 911 calls alerted firefighters and police to the fire.
VERNON, CT — First-responders in Vernon rushed to the Tri-City Plaza shopping center on Thursday to battle a vehicle fire.
The fire broke out at about 5 p.m. near TJ Maxx, according to witnesses and Tolland County 911.
Firefighters and police were alerted to the situation by multiple 911 calls, according to Tolland County 911. The fire was extinguished quickly.

The plaza at 35 Talcottville Road is near the Vernon circle section of town, one of the busiest traffic areas because of commercial buildings and an interchange with Interstate-84.
