Tonight, Waterford Residents Get In Free At The Speedbowl

Patch and the Waterford Speedbowl have come together to give all Waterford residents a free night at the Speedbowl tonight.

Tonight, Waterford Residents Get In Free At The Speedbowl

Tonight, all Waterford residents will receive free admission – that’s right, free – to the Waterford Speedbowl for one of the bowl’s biggest and most expensive events of the year.

Waterford Speedbowl and Patch have teamed up to give all Waterford residents free admission to the Speedbowl tonight, with the doors opening at 5 p.m. Waterford residents will be required to show their drivers license, which must have a Waterford address on it. The admission for everybody else is $33, one of the most expensive admissions of the year.

“It’s a huge value,” Waterford Speedbowl promoter Mark Caise said. “I’m hoping we can get the community into the stands.”

The Event

Admittedly, Patch knows very little about racecar driving. But we are very excited for Saturday’s events.

The main event features the super-modifieds, which have a 800 horsepower engine and weigh about 1,300 pounds, Caise said. Any time the weight of the car is not even double the amount of horsepower it has, you know its going to be fast.

“They are really fast,” Caise said. “They go over 100 mph.”

The race is 50 laps, with the super-modifieds completing each one in about 11 seconds, Caise said. It is intense, he said.

There are other many great races as well. There is a stock car race, a late-model race, a mini-stock race and midget racing, Caise said.

"It is one of our biggest nights of the year," Caise said. "We are really excited about it."

Don’t miss updates from Patch!
