West Hartford Police: Trio from New York Used Stolen Gift Cards at Best Buy

West Hartford police recently arrested three New York residents for allegedly using stolen gift cards to purchase merchandise at the Best Buy at Corbins Corner Shopping Center on New Britain Avenue.

Police arrested Ronald Sutherland, 24, Joley Steve Aristhee, 22, and Robert L. Snipes, 22, on March 11.

Police said that the suspects were also believed to have done something similar a month earlier.

Sutherland, of Saint Albans, N.Y., was charged with conspiracy to commit second-degree forgery, conspiracy to commit second-degree identity theft, conspiracy to commit illegal use of credit card, conspiracy to commit received goods/services obtained illegally and conspiracy to commit fourth-degree larceny. He was held on a $125,000 bond.

Aristhee, of Queens Village, N.Y., was charged with interfering with an officer, conspiracy to commit second-degree identity theft, second-degree forgery, second-degree conspiracy to commit second-degree forgery, fourth-degree larceny, received goods/services obtained illegally, conspiracy to commit received goods/services obtained illegally, illegal use of credit card, conspiracy to commit illegal use of credit card and conspiracy to commit second-degree identity theft. He was held on a $125,000 bond.

Snipes, of New York, N.Y., was charged with second-degree forgery, conspiracy to commit second-degree forgery, second-degree identity theft, conspiracy to commit second-degree identity theft, illegal use of credit card, received goods/services obtained illegally, fourth-degree larceny, and conspiracy to commit fourth-degree larceny. He was held on a $125,000 bond.
