Two Men Arrested on Redding Police Warrants

Redding Police news, Dec. 4 through Dec. 9.

Two Men Arrested on Redding Police Warrants

Patrick Byrne, 50, was picked up by Danbury Police on an active arrest warrant Redding Police had for him since 2007. The arrest occurred on Dec. 6 at 9:51 a.m.

According to police, Byrne was arrested in 2007 for driving an unregistered motor vehicle, driving with a suspended license and driving without insurance. He subsequently failed to show up to court to answer those charges, and the warrant was issued for his arrest.

Derrick Astin, 22, was arrested by Bridgeport Police on a warrant Redding Police had for his arrest since 2007. Police said Astin, who lived on Portland Avenue at the time, was charged with disorderly conduct and interfering with an emergency call.

The arrest occurred on Dec. 7 at 5:32 a.m.

On Dec. 7 at 11:45 a.m., an Umpawaug Road property owner reported someone had broken into a vacant house, which is scheduled to be torn down. Nothing was taken, police said.

On Dec. 8 at 2:58 p.m., police received a report that two handbags and a wallet were taken from a vehicle parked at Topstone Park. The complainant said one of the doors was unlocked.
