Driver Rescued From Overturned Tractor Trailer In Westport: FD

WESTPORT, CT — Westport firefighters responded to a reported tractor trailer rollover on Interstate 95 northbound between Exits 18 and 19 early Thursday morning. According to a press release, fire officials arrived at the scene around 4:50 a.m. and reported a tractor trailer on its side with one occupant trapped in the cab. Officials also reported a small fuel additive leak.

The driver was extricated by Westport and Fairfield Fire Departments and transported by Westport EMS to a local hospital, officials said.

Crews continued to operate and clean up at the scene around 6: 45 a.m. Commuters were asked to expect delays on Interstate 95 northbound between Exits 18 and 19 through the morning commute.
