Traffic Concerns Voiced about Proposed Post Road East Development Site in Westport: Report

A mixed-use development is planned for 785 Post Road East.

WESTPORT, CT — A proposal to put a mixed-use development at 785 Post Road East was met with concerns over the potential of increased traffic by members of the Westport Planning and Zoning Commission during a recent meeting, reports the Westport News.

Developer Richard Redniss is proposing to place a two-story commercial building and three, two-and-a-half story residential buildings on the property, with a total of 49 parking spaces. Currently, there is a residential building on the property where several elderly residents live, according to the commission.

Some P&Z members, who have not yet acted on the proposal, said they are concerned over the amount the traffic the development might create, but Redniss believes any increase would be minimal at most.
