Confession Sends Windsor Man Back to Prison

A Windsor man serving time at Willard-Cybulski Correctional Institute was days away from being scheduled for parole, but has remained in custody and now faces new charges after confessing to committing a burglary on Park Avenue, the Journal Inquirer reported.

According to the JI, 28-year-old Giuseppe Pugliares was scheduled to be released after serving nine months in prison on drug charges, and he now faces charges of third-degree burglary, third-degree criminal mischief and fourth-degree larceny.

The JI reports Pugliares confessed to having allegedly pulled into the driveway of a home on Park Avenue, knocking on the door to see if anyone was home, and breaking a window to gain entry to the home.

Pugliares, alerted by a sounded burglar alarm, allegedly took some jewelry from the home and left before police arrived on the scene, the JI reported.

According to court records, Pugliares is set to appear in court again on Valentine's Day.
