Tractor Trailer Catches Fire At East Windsor Auto Auction Complex

EAST WINDSOR, CT — A tractor trailer car carrier caught fire at Southern Auto Auction on Route 5 Thursday, and became engulfed in flames before being quickly controlled by personnel from the Warehouse Point and Broad Brook fire departments.

Firefighters were dispatched to the blaze at 7:45 p.m. The tractor was on fire with extension to a vehicle on the trailer. A tower ladder was used because the vehicle on the top of the trailer was about 13 feet in the air, Warehouse Point Chief Jim Barton said.

The majority of the flames were extinguished within 20 minutes. No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire is under investigation, Barton said.
