DC Rated No. 1 in the Country for Summer Jobs

Washington, D.C. beat out 149 other cities in WalletHub's annual rankings.

If you're in the D.C. area and you need a summer job, you're in luck -- Washington, D.C. has been named the best place to get a summer job or internship in the United States by personal finance site WalletHub.

D.C. beat out the 149 other cities in the nation in WalletHub's 2016 Best Cities for Summer Jobs report, which bases its ratings on 18 different metrics ranging from median income for part-time workers to summer job availability.

"No two summer positions are created equal — sometimes due to geography," WalletHub stated. "Minimum-wage laws and local cost of living, for instance, could determine your level of compensation or the affordability of housing while you’re living in the area.
