Arson Blamed in Bradenton Vehicle Fire

Breaking: A vehicle parked along Woodwinds Lane was set ablaze Monday morning.

BRADENTON, FL — A vehicle fire that broke out early Monday morning has been ruled arson, according to the Bradenton Fire Department.

According to the agency, firefighters received a call around 3:55 a.m. about a fire in the 1500 block of Woodwinds Lane. When first responders arrived on scene at 4 a.m., they found smoke and flames coming from a vehicle’s engine compartment.

The fire was extinguished within a matter of minutes, the fire department wrote in an email to media. Damage was contained to the vehicle itself with no injuries reported.

A witness was interviewed on the scene with further investigation conducted by the State Fire Marshal’s Office, the email said. Investigators determined the blaze was intentionally set. No further information is being released at this time.
