The height of summer is typically a time when pet adoptions slow down as families travel on vacation, so Manatee County Animal Services is offering aNo Kill Challenge on Saturday.

"Save A Life Saturday" runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Palmetto shelter, 305 25th Street W. The event features $35 adoptions and free food from the Zirkelbach Grill Team.

While the event takes place in Palmetto, the downtown adoption center will offer the same adoption discounts and some dogs and cats will be able for just the $10 license fee.

“Join us for a day of fun and help us save the animals” Kris Weiskopf, Animal Services Chief said. “All animals deserve a second chance at a good life.”

review available animals by visiting www.mymanatee.org/pets.  For more information, call (941) 742-5933. This adoption event is another step in the County’s plan to become a no-kill community.
