What Should Go In Closed Bradenton Sweetbay Stores?

Are you overloaded on grocery stores in Manatee County? What else would you put in these massive stores?

What Should Go In Closed Bradenton Sweetbay Stores?

Bradenton is down two grocery stores plus a third closed Sweetbay isn't too far away in Ellenton.

The Sweetbay at 5201 33rd St. E. officially closed Monday, while the store at 8750 State Road 70 E. in Lakewood Ranch closed Tuesday. The Ellenton store at 3410 U.S. 301 also closed Tuesday. The three stores were among 33 Sweetbays scheduled to close in February

We want to know what do you want at those vacant storefronts, Bradenton?

Could you use another grocery store, or would you drive to the nearby Walmart Supercenterss on both 33rd Street and State Road 70? Or perhaps it's time for something completely different.

Here are comments we received so far from our Bradenton Patch Facebook Fans:

  • Arthur Roosa: Another kind of "no-frills" grocery store that can compete with Wally-World price wise!
  • Lenny Cichewicz: Indoor paintball or lasertag facility.
  • April Joy Warenchak: Oh I'd love to see Albertson's come back in full force! Miss them here in Palmetto!
