The newly formed Valrico-Fishhawk Chamber of Commerce is off and running, hosting membership meetings, ribbon-cuttings and business- after-hours events.
The club hosted its first meeting of the new year Jan. 9 at the Campo Family YMCA in Valrico, at 3414 Culbreath Road, featuring speaker Rich Clarendon, senior planning manager for the Tampa-Hillsborough County Metropolitan Planning Organization.
Clarendon filled chamber members in on the county's long-range transportation plans as well as needed improvements, giving chamber members a chance to voice their opinions afterward.
The chamber followed up Feb. 2 with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at L.A. Fitness in Valrico, at 1930 East State Road 60.
Next up is a business-after-hours gathering scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 7, from 5:30 to 7 p.m., at Sosa Law Office in Brandon, at 952 West Brandon Blvd.
One such event is planned for the first Thursday of every month. To sponsor such an event, contact the chamber at email@example.com.
