Body Found Offshore of Clearwater

The man is believed to be between 60 and 70 years old.

CLEARWATER, FL - The Clearwater Police Department is investigating the discovery of a body found in the water off Turner Street and Magnolia Drive Friday morning.

According to the agency, the Clearwater Fire Department received a call around 9:30 a.m. about the possible discovery of a body about 50 yards west of the bluff between Turner Street and Magnolia Drive. A resident, the police department said, made the sighting and called 911.

Fire department crew recovered the body of a white male a short time later. The man’s body has been turned over to the Pinellas County Medical Examiner’s Office. He is believed to be between 60 and 70 years old. Police do not know the man’s identity as of yet.

No signs of trauma have been uncovered, the police department noted in an email to media.
