Jason Paul Vigil Begins Healing for Crest Lake Park

After the death of Jason Paul, family members, friends and neighbors gathered in Clearwater's Crest Lake Park to remember and move forward.

Bagpipes played and numerous candles lit the path from the dog park to the pier in Clearwater's Crest Lake Park on Feb. 23 to commemorate the life of Jason Paul.

Paul was bicycling home from work and a quick stop at the store when he was found stabbed near the park Jan. 6. Clearwater Police still are looking for a suspect, motive and weapon.

The vigil was meant to show support for the family as well as for Crest Lake Park, said JoAnna Siskin, president of the Skycrest Neighborhood Association.

More events are being planned to bring a more positive energy to the park, she said. Some of those events include a spoken word night, chalk art night and doggy date night.

Anyone with information in the stabbing death of Jason Paul is asked to call Clearwater Police's Tip Line at 727-562-4422. Send tips anonymously to 847411 (tip411) or online at the police website, www.clearwaterpolice.org, or  Facebook page.
