Tropical Storm Debby is on her way outta Florida. Hopefully the sunshine sticks around for a while, so that the City's 4th of July Celebration goes off without a hitch!

Who likes fireworks? Cars? Parades? Live music?

Well, if the answer is yes, celebrate the holiday in Gulfport! That's right, you're invited to the annual City of Gulfport 4th of July Celebration. The entire event is free! Now, here's a rundown of what to expect.

The day's events begin with the Marina's Fishing Derby from 8 - 11 a.m. behind the Gulfport Recreation Center.

Then, channel your inner Picaso and child at once and join in the Gulfport Recreation Sand Scupture Contest on Gulfport Beach from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m.

For the car lovers, we have the 1st Funky Fourth Car Show along Shore Boulevard from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.

Take a break and allow your kids to burn off some energy in the Kidzone on the beach from 12 - 6 p.m. There will also be food, fun and art's & crafts vendors downtown from 4 - 10 p.m.

Of course, you can kick back, relax and enjoy live entertainment at the Outdoor Casino Event Stage from 5 - 10 p.m.

The main event . . . well almost . . . is the parade on Beach Boulevard at 6 p.m.!

The Mayor and council members will welcome everyone at the event stage at 7 p.m. and then . . . . the spectacular fireworks display will light up the sky at 9 p.m.
