Candidates Asked About Criminal History

On Monday night, residents and supporters packed the Catherine Hickman Theater in Gulfport for the "Meet the Candidates" Forum moderated by the League of Women Voters.

Candidates discussed several topics and answered more than a dozen questions including:

"Have you ever been arrested or had a notice to appear for a felony or a misdemeanor in the past 10 years. If so, what was it for?"

Ward 3 Candidate Jennifer Salmon

"No"

Ward 3 Candidate James Perry

"Abosulutely not"

Ward 1 Candidate Dan Liedtke

"No and I'm not trying to."

Ward 1 Candidate David Hastings

"I had a notice to appear, a ticket, for marijuana possesion outside of the restaurant some eight years ago. We paid the ticket, that was it. That’s the only thing that I’ve experienced."

Voting Day

On Tuesday, March 13, voters will decide who should represent the city for the Ward 1 and Ward 3 council seats.
